Hi, I’m Lauryn.

I received my Bachelor of Science in both Physics and Mathematics at the University of Missouri - Columbia. I’ve continued on to the Department of Astronomy at the University of Washington - Seattle for my Ph.D., where I am currently in my final year.

Outside of research, I dedicate my time to educational outreach and mentoring. I’ve purposefully integrated outreach into my career and will continue to do so to try to make astronomy and physics as accessible as possible. As of recently, I’ve served as the director of the UW Planetarium, where we provide free, interactive, volunteer-led shows for the entire Seattle area.

Other than work, I am usually doing something nerdy and hanging out with my two cats, Sage and Butter, and partner in Seattle.
